  • Thanksgiving Break!

I'm so excited about Thanksgiving break -- which I officially started today at 12pm :P I don't know why I can't get myself to go to ECO339K, most worthless class ever! Even though I'll be studying practically all break, it'll still be nice to get home cooked food, Banh Mi from Don's Cafe, and other cheap Asian food. Other plans this week also include going to watch 2012 with my mommy, shopping with her for a dress for a family friend's wedding (which I'm not invited to... BAH!!), and whatever else. Oh! And I think I'm going to watch Precious with the roomies once we settle back home.

Once Thanksgiving break is over, there'll only be one more week of classes and then finals!!

    11/24: Return to Houston
11/25: Houston vs. Mavericks at Toyota Center -- SUPER EXCITED!
    11/26: My brother's birthday
11/29: Aiden's Birthday, return to Austin
    12/1: Marketing Exam
12/4: Macroeconomics Final Exam, Health Economics Final Paper Due, Last day of classes

    PHEW!

  • Most Confusing Time of My Life

This past week has been an emotional roller coaster for me. A job interview that I had high hopes on turned out to be a position that didn't interest me AT ALL. I wasn't accepted into a different program I was looking into. Disappointment or rejection have always hit me harder than I think it will. As much as I try to prevent feeling this way about anything, I feel like my high-strung and tense personality makes it inevitable. But everyday is a new day. Things like homemade breakfast with the boyfriend, roommates, and dogs make me sane (:

  • Crazy

I have reached the end of an insane weekend! My biggest regret was that I didn't work my butt off last week to do extra work so that tomorrow won't be so crappy and stressed-packed.
I'm happy Rachel is now 21 (: she probably won't be able to get off her iphone from now on... maybe she'll be WORSE than Esther . Wait, why do I use it less? Who knows...

Saturday I went to eat with Joanna, Lindsey, and Alex at Hula Hut. It was SO cold so we decided to sit inside. Free shrimp quesadillas, thanks to Joanna (:
The football game against Colorado was crazy fun! I wish I got the pink cotton candy instead of the blue, because the blue stained my mouth, but it was still delicious anyways . It's taken me an entire year to understand football, but the more I know about it, the more I love it. I hope that even after I graduate, I'll buy tickets to pro football games and stuff. I already have tickets to the Rockets-Mavs game on November 25th.. woo for pretty nice seats!

Then off to 6th for Rachel's birthday. It was so packed but still fun. 6th street is always a blur to me whether I'm completely sober or not. Her dinner at Belmont tonight was also fabulous (: I hope you had a great time!

Things coming up for the next week or so:
    Meet with career coach
    Finish TFA application
    ECO339K test
    Plucker's Fundraiser
OU game & weekend in Dallas
    Career Expo
    TASA Night Market
and of course my 2 years and 8 months.. I better go watch the office with him now before he falls asleep!

  • Confidence KILLER

So I just went through the solutions for my health eco exam and maybe I didn't do so hot on it haha! CRAP!!! Well I've gotten over my boohooing about bad grades so now I just move on and try harder next time. Good thing I don't just say that, I actually do try harder and do better at the end of the year (WHEN ITS TOO LATE :P)

Whatever. Time to catch up on my online English class! Done and done with ChinaCare stuff, I think.

  • Productive Day!

I nearly spent all day at home today, and it actually went pretty productively!

It always makes me feel better to make to do lists, and actually accomplish them :)
    - Finished chapter 8 of marketing notes
    - Organized review notes for marketing test on Tuesday
    - Cleaned just a little bit of my room
    - Finished both English assignments
    - Updated CC member points
    - Finding out something that was a huge relief to me!

*phew* and now it feels like it's already way past midnight (my bedtime)

    Other things on my mind:
    - It was great seeing Jamie, Jaymie, and Ysabelle of course! I wish they would visit more often. I like how half of the people in the living room fell asleep watching X-Men
    - I hope Alex feels better, sorry dude!
    - Going back to Houston this weekend?
    - Hook Em! I can't wait for the OU game, woop woop!
    - Two exams, two assignments, officer meeting, football practice and game this upcoming week = pooped

  • Christmas?

Doesn't it feel like Christmas already!? I'm so excited even though I'm scared of the cold.

I had an amazing day! I still love my Monday, Wednesday, Friday courses but I hate hate hate one of my Tuesday Thursday classes - which I had to go to her office hour today. She sucks. I had lunch with the boyfriend at Stick & Treat. It was pretty good :)

Then I had dinner with him again at Pappasito's (our favorite!) Happy 2 years and 7 months. It's so nice to have someone so great to hang out with in the cold weather.

Now off to watch X-men, best movie ever!

  • Reminder

Getting into the whole school scene again isn't so bad this year. I was hoping that somewhere along the lines, I would find an economics class that will just spark my interest in my major. This is the semester! I am extremely interested in my health and health care economics course. This area involves a lot of research being done at hospitals and other health care industries which I think I can see myself in. But who knows? It's only been a week!

Throughout this entire week, I've felt like I've had to constantly be reminded that I really do have amazing friends, family, boyfriend, dog, and the whole shabang. But even after all this, I have to say that it's really not the same without Ysabelle and Jamie! I'm going home to Houston this weekend! Hoorah!

  • I'm Back!

After the most dreadful drive to Austin at 9am yesterday, I finally arrived! The upside to this year is that I didn't have to deal with the chaos in West Campus moving. There's always trucks parked in the middle of the road and ding dongs who don't know what they're doing. I no longer have to walk up three flights of stairs to get to the front door! I love my new house -- Esther and Rachel made everything so pretty and cozy; all I have to do is my room.

I always feel the need to make lists now, so here is my to-do list for today:
    1) Get a ton of hangers
    2) Assemble my bed
    3) Assemble the new dresser (:
    4) Move all my furniture
    5) Put my new sheets on my bed

That's not being too ambitious is it? Ok, maybe for my lazy butt it is.

It's really nice to be back with everyone, although I miss my family already! Almost to get down to business, oy :(

  • Why am I always sick on trips?

When I went to Buffalo & Chicago, I had pink eye. On the fourth day of my Orlando trip, I got really sick. It started from something that felt like a heartburn and turned into a sore throat painful chest and sinuses the next morning. I managed to stick through our last morning of Universal Studios like a trooper. One of the worst things you have to do is to wait at the airport all day. Good thing Alex was there otherwise it would have been miserable.

I'm trying to heal as fast as possible so I can move to Austin. Pictures and vacation blog to come when I feel better and when I get my camera back -- it's in Dallas haha!

  • Ignorance is Bliss

Recently, I've found out a few things about some people back in Ecuador (the part in my life I don't like to talk about or think about). Although it had nothing to do with me or my family, it was still rather upsetting and sometimes I just wish I never heard it. I seem to have a soft spot for just about anyone, as long as you tell me their story. The same thing goes for all of the news I read on CNN, why are the top 10 news always either talking about how twitter was down for two hours or the kidnapping and death of children.

On a lighter note, I had a really great last day of work! Aiden asked me if I was going to find another job now, haha it's called being a full-time student... and there's nothing "full-time" about that! :P
One of my coworkers brought in eggrolls for me since she goes to Lee's Sandwiches every morning anyways. Then another one gave me a little box and inside were earrings that she made herself. They're so pretty! Then another lady brought bagels and lemon cake so we had a little breakfast party. The party continued at lunch since we ordered in (there is such a thing as free lunch)! They also sent me off with several parting gifts that I will and will not use but I love them all anyways!

The next few weeks are going to be awesome. I can't wait to move into the new house with fabulous people.
